OS GEMEOS - Brazil

Twins from Sao Paolo, pillars and one of the most important artists in the history of the world street art. Currently, the leading modern art representatives in Brazil, they exhibit their paintings, sculptures and installations in the most prominent art institutions in the world. They started to paint graffiti in 1987 and with time they became the main inspiration for the local scene. They most often paint portraits of Brazilian people in their own and specific aesthetics. A characteristic element of their painting are surreal and fairy-like worlds saturated with “warm” and vivid colours. They sometimes refer to social problems of the Brazilian society and draw their inspiration directly from Brazilian folklore stylistics and cultural traditions. The artists were  invited to take part in the street art exhibition on Tate Modern front elevation in 2008. Their large format murals can be found in more than 30 cities all around the world, e.g. New York, Boston, Sao Paolo, London, Los Angeles, Miami , Lisbon, Berlin, Buenos Aires.
